Starting Your Free Trial
How to Start a 7-Day Free Trial
- In Purr Diem, tap Settings
- Tap Upgrade to Premium
- Select Monthly or Annual plan
- Tap Start Free Trial
- Authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID
- You're in! Premium features unlock immediately
What Happens During the Trial
- Full access to all Premium features
- No charge for 7 days
- Cancel anytime during trial with no charge
- After 7 days, subscription begins automatically
⚠️ Remember: You must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid being charged.
Managing Your Subscription
How to Cancel
- Open iPhone Settings
- Tap your name at the top
- Tap Subscriptions
- Find Purr Diem
- Tap Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
What happens when you cancel:
- You keep Premium features until the end of your paid period
- No refund for unused time
- After expiration, you return to Free tier
- Your data is preserved (you just can't add more than free limits)
How to Change Plans
To switch from Monthly to Annual (or vice versa):
- Cancel current subscription
- Wait for current period to end
- Subscribe to new plan
💡 Tip: Contact support if you need help changing plans without losing Premium access.
Restoring Purchases
When to Restore Purchases
Restore purchases if:
- You got a new iPhone
- You reinstalled Purr Diem
- Premium features aren't working after subscribing
- You switched to a different Apple ID (won't work — subscriptions are tied to Apple ID)
How to Restore
- Open Purr Diem
- Go to Settings
- Tap Restore Purchases
- Wait a few seconds
- Premium features should unlock
If restore doesn't work:
- Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID that purchased Premium
- Check that your subscription is still active in iPhone Settings
- Contact support at support@coalsnap.com
Refunds & Billing
Requesting a Refund
All purchases are processed by Apple, not by us. To request a refund:
- Go to reportaproblem.apple.com
- Sign in with your Apple ID
- Find Purr Diem subscription
- Select "Request a refund"
- Choose a reason and submit
Apple typically responds within 48 hours.
Billing Questions
- When am I charged? Immediately after free trial ends, then monthly/yearly
- Can I get a partial refund? No, Apple doesn't prorate subscriptions
- Why was I charged twice? Check if you have multiple Apple IDs or family members subscribed
⚠️ Note: Lifetime purchases are not refundable except in cases of accidental purchase (request within 48 hours).
Family Sharing
Currently: Purr Diem subscriptions do not support Family Sharing.
Each family member needs their own subscription. However, each person's data is private and stored separately, which is important for expense tracking.
💡 Future Update: We're considering adding Family Sharing in a future release. Let us know if this is important to you!
Lifetime vs Subscription: Which to Choose?
Choose Monthly if:
- You're not sure if Purr Diem is right for you long-term
- You only need Premium for a specific event or project
- You prefer low monthly payments
Choose Annual if:
- You want to save 33% vs. monthly
- You travel or track expenses regularly
- You prefer paying once per year
Choose Lifetime if:
- You track expenses frequently (several times per year)
- You hate recurring subscriptions
- You plan to use Purr Diem for 2+ years
- You want peace of mind — pay once, use forever
💡 Break-Even Analysis:
- Lifetime vs Monthly: Pays for itself after 34 months (2.8 years)
- Lifetime vs Annual: Pays for itself after 3.3 years
- Best for long-term users who track expenses frequently
Common Issues
"I subscribed but still see ads"
- Force quit Purr Diem (swipe up from app switcher)
- Reopen the app
- If still seeing ads, try Restore Purchases
"Export button is still grayed out"
- Make sure your subscription is active in iPhone Settings
- Try Restore Purchases
- Force quit and reopen Purr Diem
"I was charged after canceling"
Subscriptions cancel at the end of the current period, not immediately. Check your cancellation confirmation email from Apple for the exact end date.
"Can I transfer my subscription to Android?"
No, subscriptions are tied to your Apple ID and iOS only. If you switch to Android, you'll need to subscribe again through Google Play (when/if we release an Android version).
